Golfers came together at Barlaston Golf Club for the fifth annual UHNM Charity Golf Day, raising over £10,000 to support patients, their families and NHS staff at University Hospitals of North Midlands.
The sold-out 2026 UHNM Charity Golf Day has raised over £10,000 to help improve care and experiences for patients and their families across University Hospitals of North Midlands.
The event returned to Barlaston Golf Club on Friday 5 June, bringing golfers together for a full day of fundraising on the course.
Now in its fifth year, the Golf Day continues to grow, with an increasing number of Barlaston Golf Club members taking part each year.
Terry Adnams from Barlaston Golf Club said: “We’re always proud and privileged to host the event. The benefit that comes from the money we raise is fantastic, so it’s a great day all around.
“We enjoy putting something back, which is important for our members as well.”
Guests praised the condition of the course, while organisers thanked the team at Barlaston Golf Club for its continued support.
Steve Rushton from UHNM Charity said: “The course was immaculate and everybody told us how much they enjoyed the day. A massive thank you to Barlaston and to everybody who contributed.
“They raised over £10,000, which is a magnificent amount. Every penny helps us support patient experience, fund state-of-the-art equipment and provide those additional items which NHS funding cannot cover.”
The Golf Day was first introduced following the COVID-19 pandemic as a way for the club and its members to thank UHNM and the NHS for the care provided to local people.
This support remains personal to many members, including those whose friends and loved ones are currently receiving treatment.
UHNM Charity supports care at Royal Stoke University Hospital, County Hospital in Stafford and across UHNM’s community services.
Steve added: “Every contribution makes a massive difference. It could be £5, £10 or, as we have seen here, £10,000.
“Every penny goes towards helping us provide additional support for patients, their families and staff across UHNM.”
