Across the NHS, such donations have proven to transform the hospital experience: new toys and arts and crafts sets distract young patients during anxious waits or long stays, while gifts like puzzle books, toiletries, and colouring supplies help elderly, or dementia patients stay engaged and calm. For cancer patients receiving treatment, receiving a small care pack of hand cream or a puzzle book offers a vital moment of normalcy and a reminder that their community is thinking of them.
