Supporters of University Hospitals of North Midlands Charity raised more than £2,300 at this year’s Stafford Half Marathon, backing a range of funds that support patients and families across local hospitals.
The group of runners took on the challenge to raise money for causes close to them, with funds supporting services at both County Hospital Stafford and Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Among those taking part were Amy and Matthew Jones, who raised £938 in aid of the Forget Me Not Suites. The suites are part of maternity services and support families experiencing baby loss.
Craig and Rebecca Viggars also completed the half marathon, raising £888 for the charity’s General Fund.
Sarah Thompson and Alison Jones-Munro ran together, raising £326 for Children’s Oncology, helping to support young patients and their families during treatment.
Julian Waldron raised £200 for Pathology, contributing towards services that support diagnosis and patient care.
In total, £2,352 has been raised so far, with donations continuing to come in.
Every pound raised will help enhance patient experience and support families across UHNM hospitals.
UHNM Charity would like to thank everyone who took part and supported the runners, helping to make a real difference to patients and their families.
