A team from M2 Construction is taking on three fundraising challenges across 2026 to raise money for UHNM Charity, supporting children and families receiving care at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Rather than taking on a single event, the team decided to spread their fundraising across the year by tackling Scafell Pike, Snowdon and the Potters’ Arf Half Marathon.
The challenges have been chosen to test the team while raising awareness and vital funds for UHNM Charity.
A spokesperson from M2 Construction said:
“We wanted to really challenge ourselves. If we just did one challenge, it would be over quite quickly, so we decided to spread them throughout the year. That helps us build momentum and raise more awareness.
“Each challenge gets harder as the year goes on. Scafell Pike will be tough, then Snowdon, and we’ll finish with the Potters’ Arf Half Marathon. That’s definitely going to be the hardest of the three.”
As well as raising money, the team hopes the challenge will bring colleagues together and have a positive impact on wellbeing.
“Taking on something like this helps you mentally because you’re doing something active. Everybody feels better after completing a challenge. It also brings our office and site teams together, so it’s been great for team morale.”
Supporting UHNM Charity was a personal decision for many members of the team, who have seen first hand the care provided by staff at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
“We chose to support children receiving care because a lot of us are parents and we’ve had amazing experiences with the staff and the care they provide.
“A couple of years ago, my son Marshall was admitted to intensive care with Mycoplasma pneumoniae. It was touch and go for a while, but the staff were amazing and looked after him so well. That’s why we chose to support UHNM Charity.”
The team is encouraging other businesses to get involved too.
“It benefits your team as a company, helps build morale and, at the same time, you’re helping a great cause. We’d definitely encourage other businesses to get involved.”
Every pound raised helps UHNM Charity fund equipment, projects and enhancements that go above and beyond NHS provision, supporting patients, families and staff across University Hospitals of North Midlands.
If your business is looking for a way to give back, why not take on a fundraising challenge for UHNM Charity? From team events and sponsored challenges to workplace fundraisers, every pound raised helps make a difference for patients, families and staff across UHNM.
