A Consultant Gastroenterologist is encouraging her colleagues, former patients and members of the public to start the New Year on the right foot and join her on a fundraising Parkrun.
Dr Alison Brind wants as many people as possible to join her at Trentham Gardens on Saturday 28 January to run or walk the 5k course whilst raising funds for UHNM Charity.
Dr Brind is lacing up her trainers to raise funds to help treat liver disease at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.
She said: “I’ve been treating liver disease locally for 25 years and I wish to inspire other to enjoy their health and look after their liver whilst raising funds for my Liver Appeal with UHNM Charity.”
“Liver disease accounts for a third of premature deaths each year in the UK. 95% of liver disease is preventable, but most people are unaware of this. As this month is ‘Love Your Liver Awareness Month, now is the perfect time to get active and raise awareness and funds.”
