Dr Sanjeev Nayak and colleagues are embarking on a journey to climb Mount Toubkal on 10 November, for a life-changing cause! The exciting and demanding adventure will consist of climbing the awe-inspiring Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, standing tall at 4,167 meters.
But this journey isn't just about testing their endurance and taking in the beauty of the Atlas Mountains – it's about making a real difference.
Dr Sanjeev Nayak said “We’re raising funds for UHNM Charity to support a cause that’s very close to our hearts. This 4-day trek aims to raise funds for a new angiographic suite to support the 24/7 Thrombectomy Service at UHNM. Our goal is not only to help build essential infrastructure but also to raise awareness about mechanical thrombectomy as a life-saving treatment for acute stroke.
“We hope to accelerate access to this treatment for eligible stroke patients across the UK, ensuring 24/7 availability for those in need. Every step we take up Mount Toubkal will be dedicated to bringing hope and change to stroke care. “
The team are looking to reach their fundraising target of £1,500 and you can donate here.
