Organiser and Staff Nurse Charlotte Muir said: "We've had an amazing turnout of both staff and former patients and their families for our event today in aid of UHNM Charity. I'd like to say thank you to everybody who has donated or baked something for us."
UHNM Charity also supported the staff in providing a special gift to families to mark the occation.
Families of patients receiving care on the 26-bed unit have been given a bag containing gifts including a card, candles, keyrings, pin badges, cookies and a baby footprint kit.
Charlotte added: “This is all about families creating a memory of World Prematurity Day that they can show their children in the future. Our amazing staff have provided the majority of the items themselves and we were up late last night putting everything together. I’d also like to say thank you to UHNM Charity for supporting us.”
