The Sugarmill is pleased to be hosting a live event music event in aid of Children's Art Therapy at UHNM.
A local musician approached the venue to tell his story about his personal experience with art therapy within a hospital setting and from there the venue managers were touched and felt that this could be something that they help to contribute to.
The team at the Sugarmill believe that art is vital and the local music scene can play a key role in supporting Art Therapy at the Children's Ward at UHNM. Music and art provide a powerful outlet for children that are facing illness' by offering them a way to express their emotions, reduce anxiety and build resilience.
Taz Harrison, Vice-Emperor of Live Music at the venue said: "By raising funds, we can help to ensure these young patients have access to the creative therapies they need to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing during difficult times. Its a way for the Sugarmill and the local community to come together, using the power of art to heal and uplift children when they need it most."
The live event will feature four regional artists called, Dark Root Falls, Wolves in Alcatraz, Athena's Revenge and Foul Play. Buy your tickets here.
