Team UHNM raise more than £12,000 for UHNM Charity

A team of runners have raised more than £12,000 for UHNM Charity after successfully completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon.

Clinical and non-clinical staff as well as UHNM Charity supporters represented Team UHNM, training for months to be race ready for the iconic half marathon.

Team UHNM member, Anita Timmis, Specialist Midwife, said: “It was such a fabulous weekend, the medals are awesome. I would like to thank the charity team for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout my training and a huge well done to Team UHNM for the incredible fundraising, it’s amazing!”

The team ran 13.1 miles through central London taking in the spectacular sights of Westminster, heading down to the River Thames passing iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, and crossing the finishing line in Trafalgar Square.

Jess Mulroy-Johnson, Engagement and Marketing Lead of UHNM Targeted Lung Health Checks, completed the half marathon in two hours and 19 minutes, said: “Running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for UHNM Charity has been a fantastic experience. It is a great race which is so well supported by spectators and charities. Seeing the UHNM charity stand cheering me on was the extra boost I needed.

“I can’t believe the team have raised so much money, it doesn’t feel real. I can’t wait to hear about all the wonderful ways the money is spent to help with patient experience.”

Team UHNM are now hoping to take part in the race next year and raise even more funds for UHNM Charity.

“The amount of money they have collectively raised has been incredible and it will help to enhance the care and experience of patients at UHNM.”
