A Ramadan Experience Iftar event at Royal Stoke University Hospital has brought together community partners while raising funds for Children’s Oncology.
The event was organised by Razeem Akhtar, a registered fundraiser supporting UHNM Charity through his Ramadan Experience initiative.
The Iftar focused on bringing people together from across partner agencies and the wider community. Guests gathered to break the fast at sunset, network and learn more about the services available across the area
Razeem said the event is centred on giving back.
“Iftar is about bringing people together, giving back to the community and giving back to a chosen charity,” he said
He chose to support Children’s Oncology because the cause is close to his heart.
“It’s about making a difference, especially for children and families who are going through difficult times”.
Representatives from Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended as part of their community engagement work. The evening highlighted the importance of collective working and shared responsibility in supporting local communities
Donations were collected through a QR code and online links shared on social media, with sponsorship from local partners helping to provide food and refreshments
Razeem hopes the Ramadan Experience will continue to grow each year, bringing more people together while raising funds to support young patients receiving care at UHNM.
