Last month, Oliver Redmond and a group of friends took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon to raise money for Ward 228 at UHNM.
The cause was a personal one. Oliver’s brother Roman and his friend Indeah are both traumatic brain injury survivors and have been patients on Ward 228.
Oliver said, “The staff have been nothing short of remarkable, and all uphold a great level of care and respect for everyone on the ward.”
The team wanted to show their appreciation for the care and compassion shown not just to Roman and Indeah, but to every patient treated on the neurology and critical care wards. Their efforts raised an incredible £1,745.
Lorna Lester, Ward Manager for Ward 228, said, “The ward is extremely grateful for the generosity and effort that went into the fundraiser. Every donation has a genuine positive impact on the care that we can deliver in neurosurgery. Thank you, on behalf of everyone on Ward 228.”
Thanks to Oliver and his friends, these funds will directly support the continued high-quality care provided to patients recovering from neurological conditions and brain injuries.
