Lisa Buckley will soon be tackling the autumn terrain of Cannock Chase in memory of her daughter and to thank staff on our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for their care and support.
Lisa from Rugeley will be running the Cannock Chase Forest Runner 10k on 14 November.
She said: “Our daughter Erin was born sleeping at 24 weeks in September 2015. The team at Royal Stoke were fantastic in terms of aftercare and our consultant, Mr Cunningham, has since supported us through our next two pregnancies, resulting in the safe arrival of our daughter in 2016 and son in 2019.”
“Every year I do some activity to raise money for the Unit. It’s the perfect way to keep Erin’s memory alive, as despite her short time with us, she is making a huge difference to so many people and is something I’ve promised to continue every year in her name. I want to help other families going through what no one should ever have to experience. ”
“My training is going OK, I’ve been building up to the event by doing weekly 5k park runs, so am tentatively confident.”
