Dr Fernando Rodriguez-Albarran, Critical Care Consultant at UHNM is about to embark on a three-day coast-to-coast fundraising cycle challenge for UHNM.
Dr Rodriguez-Albarran will cycle from Whitehaven on the Irish Sea coast to Sunderland on the North Sea Coast from Thursday 12 September.
Dr Rodriguez-Albarran said: “Working for UHNM and the Critical Care Unit (CCU) has made a big change in my life. Is not only that offered me the possibility to improve and be settled in my career, is also the amazing people that I am working with. If I am better is because they are there, helping, supporting, smiling.
“For that reason, this year my fundraising event will be to raise money for CCU at UHNM. Money is not the most important we always say, but money helps to get things that have a positive influence in patient and staff. That is my aim.
“Cycling is one of my passions. Ride from the Irish Sea to the North Sea has been in my mind for a long time. Now is time to get it.”
