Charity Walk Raises £420 for Ward 202 Garden at Cancer Centre

A cheque was presented this week to Ward 202 at the Cancer Centre following the Market Drayton Sunday Tickle Fitness Charity Walk.

The 6 mile walk took place in Market Drayton on Sunday 28 December. Lorraine organised the event with support from the Market Drayton Sunday Tickle Fitness Group. More than 40 people took part, including children. The turnout showed strong support from the local community.

Thanks to donations on the day and additional contributions, a total of £420 was raised.

The funds will be used to improve the ward’s garden area. The space will offer a calmer and more welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Lorraine chose to support Ward 202 as her dad, Jim, has received chemotherapy treatment on the ward and is due to begin further treatment in the coming weeks.

Lorraine said, “The care my dad has received on Ward 202 has meant so much to our family. We wanted to give something back to say thank you to the staff for their kindness and support.”
