A Burns Night fundraiser hosted by Vanessa at The New Broom Village Pub has raised £601.90 for UHNM Charity.
The event brought together colleagues, friends and members of the local community to celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns. Guests enjoyed traditional readings, the ceremonial address to the haggis, music and a shared meal in a warm and welcoming setting.
Vanessa, a valued member of staff, organised the evening with support from the Social Committee at St Mary and All Saints, Checkley. Planning included coordinating the venue, arranging the programme and promoting the event locally.
A raffle formed a key part of the evening. Prizes were donated by local businesses and supporters, with tickets sold on the night to raise additional funds. The effort behind the scenes, from gathering donations to preparing tickets, helped drive the total to £601.90.
The funds have been designated to support the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme at University Hospitals of North Midlands. Donations like this help enhance facilities, provide equipment and support services that benefit patients and families across Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford.
UHNM Charity would like to thank Vanessa, the Social Committee, prize donors and everyone who attended and contributed to the evening. The event reflects strong community spirit and a shared commitment to supporting local healthcare services.
