Bereavement Officer Bob Eccles is undertaking his own ‘Movember Challenge’ and currently growing a goatee to raise funds for UHNM Critical Care Unit.
Bob told us: “The Bereavement Team works closely with consultants on all six of Critical Care’s pods, so we know how very busy everybody on the Unit is and the pressures they are under. We can see it affecting their health and wellbeing and I feel it’s my duty to give them as much help as I can.”
“I feel I’m too old to run a marathon or do a skydive, and I’ve previously grown a moustache for Movember and prostate cancer , so wanted to go one better this year and grow a full goatee for Critical Care.”
“The beard’s starting to get quite itchy and quite a few colleagues have started to comment I’m starting to look like Kenny Rodgers! Unfortunately for them though I won’t be keeping it past November.”
