Barlaston Golf Club is gearing up to host its inaugural Corporate Golf Day in partnership with UHNM Charity in June.
The club is hoping to raise much needed funds to buy cutting-edge equipment to enable a surgeon to precisely target all areas of a tumour. The kit includes a surgical magnifying camera system and a state of the art laser system and will benefit hundreds of local people every year who undergo complex brain tumour surgery.
As Covid-19 restrictions lift, the team at Barlaston Golf Club wanted to play its part in thanking NHS staff for their contribution during the pandemic.
Commercial Director Terry Adams said: "We wanted to do something special for our local hospitals and celebrate the amazing work staff have done throughout the pandemic by inviting local businesses to join our competition on Friday 17 June. We are hoping we can raise thousands of pounds to support patients who have to undergo brain surgery.”
The golf competition promises to be a great day with local businesses as well as local celebrities enjoying the club’s amazing facilities and picturesque course.
UHNM Charity Manager Steve Rushton, said: "We are thrilled that the team at Barlaston Golf Club is supporting UHNM Charity and our expert neurosurgeons who want to bring the latest technology to support our patients undergoing brain surgery. We are looking forward what promises to be an amazing day of golf.”
The Thank You day is open to players in teams of four to take part in 18 holes of golf and will be welcomed with refreshments, auction prizes and an opportunity to meet some of the neurosurgery team for the price of £399 per team.
