A team of 19 from across Royal Stoke's A&E department will be taking on the gruelling 24 hour Three Peaks Challenge of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon on Saturday 2 September for UHNM Charity.
The team of doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants will be lacing up their walking shoes to raise funds to help improve the comfort and experience of people attending A&E.
Organiser staff nurse Stephanie Wilcock said: “I can’t help but feel for our patients who attend A&E and wanted to do something to raise funds to make a difference and help improve their comfort and experience whilst they are under our care.”
“Whilst we’re all part of a team, this challenge is bringing staff together who might not normally of got chance to speak and get to know each other. We’ll all be travelling and sleeping in the two mini buses and camper van we have.”
“I can’t wait to see my colleagues faces at the end when we’ve accomplished our aim, I’ll be so proud of everybody.”
Anybody wishing to sponsor Steph and the team should email stephwilcock@hotmail.co.uk.
